After watching the CMA awards recently, I'm planning to pay a lot more attention to country music. Sure, there's a lot of corny crap out there, but some of it is surprisingly good. Maybe it's just that I live in a small southern town, or that my grandparents were tobacco farmers, but the harmonies ring true. The Zac Brown Band was a revelation, and I also enjoyed Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum. I can't get Gwenyth Paltrow's "Country Strong" out of my head.

Did you know that country is the genre with the most radio stations? I thought that was interesting.

That is interesting! My brother-in-law works for a plumbing company and drives around in a pick-up for much of the day listening to country music radio. I think that's pretty common in much of the country, with people who work on the move, and it may fund a lot of radio.

I also heard that the pick-up truck is the most popular type of vehicle in the U.S, and not just in rural areas. I live in a rural area, so I want one just for taking trash to the dump and stuff like that. It would be fun to drive around the countryside in a pick-up listening to country music, I think smile
