So I just posted some pics from the Stray Show last weekend.

We quickly learned just how inept we are at hanging art. Not only the act of hanging, but we hung it at just the right height for a giant (like me) to view it at, totally shunning small people. We barely got done in time for the big opening was on Friday night.

There were far too many people there and the place was a sauna. Naturally, neither Eric nor I were dressed for the temperature and tried to alleviate the heat by drinking as much as humanly possible. We were sandwiched inbetween a booth in which someone was doing the annoying "performance piece" of playing an electric guitar loudly and badly and people shooting Hello Kitty with a paint gun...

One of our fellow exhibitors came up to me and asked me to explain the difference between Richard Kern's photos and normal porn.

"Um... Richard Kern's work doesn't make me want to masturbate."

So that was good enough for her, but it seemed that everytime Eric left the booth, another old lady was giving me shit for the naked ladies on the wall. This led to an impassioned debate (read: loud argument) in which a small crowd gathered. By the end of it, I was shaking and had to start drinking. Ironically, the next two old ladies who came by said "these are beautiful" and "wow, what really great photos."

I spent the rest of the weekend drinking lots and going to many parties. It's all a blur. I like art.
