So my big auction is finally over and I am relieved. Several times during the process, I swore that I would never, ever do it again, but I'm sure that feeling will change in another week.

Thanks to everyone who came by.

I am very excited for tonight's festivities... Dillinger Four with some wacky Chinese bands at the Fireside!

Once, when I was a kid, my little sister fed a bag of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish to my aquarium. That was the end of my pet owning.
gingerlie:
did you then feed the aquarium to your little sisters face? because that would be the only rational thing to do.

I think I had an "episode" yesterday. I found myself at dinner with friends yesterday freaking out, wishing I could believe in God, monogomy and having a job job.

Then after all that a sexy woman started hitting on me at this club and when she said that she was married, I was utterly repulsed?

Gemini.

After a conversation with Neon about how I used to be into comics, I suddenly remembered that I have a comic-based tatoo (Herman Vermin). I now realize what a true nerd I am. I don't read comics anymore, but it's something that stays with you. First appearance of the Kingpin? Amazing Spider-Man #50. The first appearance of the Punisher? ASM #121, and the list goes...

Tonight was my first time at Denny's in many years. The Super Bird tastes just as good as I remember it.

The strangest change was the waitstaff not asking us to leave.

Hmmm... I don't know about those Suicide Boys! Pretty gross if you asked me. Don't get me wrong, I know a hot guy when I see one, and I understand the affinity for that little pelvic bone area, but dudes with dildos showing their hairy assholes...

That section needs an Editor with a capital E.

Anyhow. Yeah. I've been swamped putting my first auction together...

Dear god have I been busy.

It is 6am and I just got home from "work."

My brain is fried and I'm trying to catch up with the impending war news and trying to figure out just where I stand.

Day Quil makes the world go round.

Additonally, I just realized I missed some of the best airfares I've seen in a long time. Perhaps...

short story of my life:

i was born in sarajevo, bosnia. i lived there until the age of ten. took lots and lots of vacations to croatia (as in every single holliday and a lot of the weekends) b/c i have a huuuuge family there. the war in sarajevo started on my birthday. april 6, 1992. bad things happened. bad things were witnessed. my family and i escaped sarajevo end of august 1992. very lucky to have gotten across the croatian border b/c they were no longer accepting refugees at that time which means that the entire convoy or what was left of it after multiple serb and croat checkpoints got turned back. we made it across b/c my mom could prove that she was born there and that we had family there. the only car to get in. was a refugee in croatia for two years. my parents couldn't find a decent job b/c of the horrible economy in war recovering croatia because of our status as refugees. applied to move to sweden or norway through UN. got sent to richmond, va ( puke ). lived there for seven years. moved to NY to be a nanny for a year. moved back to richmond for four months. currently back in NY thank goodness.
that was a suuuuuper short story of my life based on places i've lived.

about the hungarian food. eating at this restaurant was the first experience i've had with it. i wouldn't recomend this food to anyone with a vegan or vegetarian diet b/c you'll starve to death. honestly i had difficulty choosing what to eat b/c it seemed that majority of the dishes involved beef or veal (i stay away from these in restaurants). i opted for chicken. anyways. this restaurant was good but hungarian food is deffenitely not on the top list of my favorite foods although their deserts are incredible. yum.

long comment now over.

I am beat..

I just got back from a whirlwind visit to NYC. Lots of antique-show-going and liquor-drinking and Crif-Dog-Eating.

This trip marked the first visit in which I niether ate at Flourant, nor bought a single article of clothing.

I must be getting old.
