I had to go back to the doctor last week, for a review on my progress taking Sertraline (for my depression and anxiety). I got another month's supply and while I was there I asked her if there were any stronger painkillers she could offer. Tramadol isn't working anymore and since she won't give me the pain relief patches (see my last blog), I need something stronger to tide me over until I get the surgery (who knows when that will be, as I haven't heard anything from the surgeon yet). After much consideration, she prescribed morphine (10mg, nothing too strong) and he told me to combine doses of morphine and tramadol.
Anyways, I've not suffered any ill effects from the morphine yet and the pain's been that bad lately that I can barely stand, let alone walk anywhere. Over the past few days I've been taking 3 doses each of morphine and tramadol and to be honest they're not giving me much in the way of pain relief.
Thankfully I have my knitting, which gives me something to focus on other than the pain. I'm making good progress on the cardigan I'm knitting for my wife, and I'm working on the second sleeve. Not much left to do after that, just the edges and button holes. Will post a picture of it when it's finished.
Not much else to report, had my Mum and stepdad over for lunch yesterday, which was nice. Found out they're going on holiday the day before my birthday, which wasn't so nice. We usually have a family meal at a restaurant on my birthday, and mum did suggest we do that on the day before they go on holiday, but it's not the same...
