Hey I just wanted to tell you I really liked your response in the thread about "regional justification" in the Veggie group. I would have posted it in there, but I don't feel comfortable posting within the group as I have started eating meat again... I stick around for the recipes and for inspiration to get back on track.

I love that, "what kinda food you into?" It's a great question. I still eat a mostly vegetarian diet, lots of lentils (I buy chickpeas in bulk) and tofu; I live for the home grown veg in the summer and fall. Also, organic whenever I can afford it. I eat seafood though, and it's because I love the taste of it. I feel gross saying that I enjoy eating it, but I do... I hate that I do, but I also know how to catch and clean a fish. In a way, it makes me feel more comfortable eating it because I know how to prepare it myself.

I was never a vegetarian because I felt that animals should under no circumstances be eaten... I was a vegetarian mainly because a) I believe that "mass producing" animals is ethically wrong and torturous, the meat industry has NO respect for life b) a meat-based diet is generally unhealthy for an individual as well as the earth and c) I didn't like the taste or texture of meat, except for seafood.

I feel irresponsible for eating seafood, because I hate the meat industry in general... Also, I know I don't need the sacrifice of an animal's life for me to survive.

I may be a hypocrite. I don't know. I just do what I can.

It makes me wonder if Ninteno is going to ask for ALL member sites who list Ninteno games to be removed. That'll be about... well too many to count!

i can't wait to see memoirs of a Geisha. I'm apprehensive tho, I hate watching films adapted from books that have turned out to be awful. I hope this one isn't! The book is fantastic!
