Well people, break out the armoury I'm off to invade Paris. In a tank. I was going to Euro Disney but got sidetracked. or perhaps in an alternate reality I could be going to Paris for Christmas to see my aunt and uncle. That would be too freakish though? no?
I know that we all hate Christmas (bah humgbug etcetera) but it doesn't have to be crap. My family doesn't celebrate it any more, we just look on it as a chance to chill out and have a little fun. So, whatever you are doing this holiday have fun! Go somewhere cool, do something cool, just have a good time!
I will be in Paris for 10 days and will be back on the 27th of December to celebrate new years eve in my terribly provincial little back water county. Perhaps it will be dry and we will be able to have a beach party with a roaring fire?!?
I doubt I will be able to update my journal while I am in Paris, I will have my arms full dealing with my very, very jewish extended family. One of the benefits of them being jewish is that they don't celebrate Christmas so we won't have to worry about that. On the other hand a downside is they bicker ten a dozen about everything. It is quite funny to watch.
I will take lots of pictures of Paris while I am there. This is one of the things I am most interested and excited by. I have my iRiver H320 music player which I can plug my camera straight into and put all the photo's I have taken on to. That means I will never run out of space on my camera. I hopefully should come back with some memorable images!
I'm going to do as much stuff as I can while there, I havn't been in Paris for 14 years since I was ten. I hope to visit all the obvious sites but I also want to go to all the churches I can find. They are so stunning I think they would make great pictures. I also hope to visit some flea markets because according to my mum (who I will be going with) they are quite amazing!
As I am vegan food might be a problem because the french like their meat and cheese. I don't see it being too large a problem, but I could do with dropping a few pounds anyway. I feel like a fat bloater, ok I am a fat bloater at the moment. One of my favourite pairs of trousers just garrot me. I won't make any sodding news years whatchamacallit (I don't believe in them) but I do need to lose some spare tyres round the middle. It's because I've been so fecking idle these last couple of months. It's not like I've even particularly enjoyed them I've just been to bored to do anything.
I'm sure i managed to get exactly 0 people from sg to tune in to listen to Underworlds DJ set on their radio station but its all your loss. I will actually put the show up as a torrent some time soon and it will be available through soulseek (slsk username: nemof) when I get back to Bristol.
It was a fantastic set with a wonderfully eclectic choice of tunes from the Romford Two. Karl and Rick are my heros for sure, and with this DJ set you are really spoiling us Ambassador. It was a special Christmas present to all us dirty underworld fans out there. I don't think I've ever had a DJ set from my favourite band as a present, ever. So that rules. And how many bands do you know who run their own radio station? You can tune in at DirtyRadio.net. Dirty Radio..... It's fresh and cool.
As it comes to the end of the year I realize that I have been a member of SG for nearly 6 months now. In that time I've met some great people, hopefully sometime in the future I might actually get to meet some of you at an SG meet up although I think I would probably be terribly shy. I'm very suprised how much I enjoy the community of SG as in the past I've never really found internet communities engaging. I guess because there are so many interesting people who share the same interests as me on SG it's much easier to find cool people to talk to.
You guys are great, I will speak to you all anon! Now I go forth to do battle with maps of the Paris Metro (subway) system. Oh, and here's an amusing search phrase that my stats tells me brought someone to my website: "how communism works". I'm not sure how my website became a haven for the big red terror but I whole heartedly support it. Well comrades, catch you later.
