Well boys and girls, it looks like the chosen destination for this summer's foreign debauchery is PARIS!
It also appears that it may be happening sooner than expected.
ZPO and I spoke about this at length on Monday. So all I have to do now is research hotels and the like, as well as brush up on my French. I ran out today and bought my Fodor's guide to Paris, as well as a French tutorial program. It's only been six years since I've conversed en francais. I'm looking forward to polishing my language skills. Again.
The interview with the temp agency went well; they seem to have a few positions open for me, including but not limited to:
- Peddling wood floors for a lumber company.
- Cold calling and generating sales leads for...a publisher...I think...
- Purchasing and invoicing for a summer camp company.
- Admin for a local college, which is temp-to-perm. It doesn't pay nearly as much as the other ones, but if I get hired on a permanent basis, I get benefits, a raise and a free education!!! The monetary value? About $100K. I'd work for free if that were the case.
I do have another interview with there folks on Thursday, which I am really looking forward to. We'll see how it all pans out. I may not end up with anything from these two interview sessions. Unemployment is driving me mad, though. The NYS Dept. of Labor sent me 93845646 kajillion pages of forms to fill out regarding my termination from Pace, and who the hell knows the REAL answers to any of these questions. I'll just do my best and hope that they approve my fundage. With any luck, I won't be needing it, but the important thing is that the papers get filed in case I do end up needing the unemployment check.
Meanwhile, I'm getting a nice chunk of change for my tax refund, most of which is going towards my life and lease payments, about $300 of it is going towards an iPod.
I can't keep my eyes open and I've got a migraine. Cross yr fingers for little old me, kids!

Things are looking up, no?
There's something about BMW dealership and beurocracy. I sold my M3 last year due, in large part, to my dissatisfaction with my experiences at dealerships. Most of the individuals I dealt with were wonderful, generous people who clearly had their hands tied by policy. They
I'm sorry you lost the job, but I can't imagine working for BMW could have been terribly pleasant.
