Spent the day with both my grandmothers, one at a time. Since my mother is, well, no longer with us for mother's day, that's our way of remembering her.
I call both of them "mom-mom", pronounced "mumm-mumm". Stop making fun of me. That's just how I was raised! LOL
First it was brunch at my aunt's house with my mom's mom. It was nice and pleasant, we all ate like pigs and just BSed for a while. She is such a sweet, dainty little old lady. But once in a while she comes up with some zingers. We were watching baseball. I'm not into it but she is. The Phillies' pitcher got nailed right in the head by a line drive and he sat out a couple innings with an ice pack on his head.
He finally got back in the game, and I was like "wow, he's already pitching again! He should be seeing a doctor".
So my grandma says "Yeah, well, he just gave up a home run. He needs to go sit down a while longer." LOL
Then we were talking about my uncle. He always falls for get-rich-quick schemes and pyramid scams and all of that. He has tried on several occasions to get me involved and I always tell him no. Just when we finish talking about him, he walked into the room with PERFECT timing and says "Hey Ben, I have a good business opportunity you might be interested in."
LOL!!!!! I cracked up right there. He was like "do you wanna hear about it?"
I said "no, but I have a feeling you're gonna tell me about it anyway."
And he did.
Poor guy.
After that we went home and my other grandparents came over my house. They brought all this italian food they had picked up, and we had a nice dinner together. We talked about stuff, and then the topic came up that my sister is getting picked on at school by a couple of boys at the front of her bus. We tried for an hour to give her advice on what to do about it, and how to scare them into leaving her alone, but all she wanted was a CD player so she can ignore them. The whole time she just kept saying "no, that won't work. I just want a CD player!" So stubborn and yet she can't stand up for herself at school... Arg.
Then I talked to my ladyfriend for a couple hours on the phone, and now here I am on SG. Altogether it was a decent day.
Oh, good news. My pals are buying a house after all! It's a different one from before, and they're going to let me rent a room for not too much money. FINALLY I can get my ass of the couch. Right now I haven't had a bedroom for almost 6 months. I can't wait...

I so know what you mean about the couch thing! I spent some time living out of my car, it sucked at the time. But it was worth it, I was young (22), I was waiting to move into my own house at the time.
Good luck to your sister with the boys on the bus situation (boys... humph!)
I never remember calling my mom "mommy" nor my dad "daddy" but I have forever called my moms father "Pop". It fits him ya know.
Well have a good hump day. *Nite
As for the depression it is something that I have been battling for years. I tried meds once and I didn't like it. I hate prescription drugs. I have thought about therapy. I have no insurance right now this is the big problem. right now I am trying to change my perspective on things and change things in my life. If I work on creating new patterns and habits that should help. I gotta rid myself of some negativity.
