time slowed to a crawl as the crowds parted, revealing a slim figure in a short summer dress and a blue jean jacket. every word, every image, every conversation we had shared in the past month flashed through my mind. with each passing step, the womans face came into focus while the world blurred around us. then she was in my arms. my reality became two souls lost at the beginning of time, now desperately clinging to each other in a bustling airport.

i felt an overwhelming sense of love and completion. the dream i had fallen in love with had become real in the trembling body before me, in the sweet breath that fell on my ear as i held my angels face close. i had never felt happiness quite like this, i realized, as i took her hand and walked into my once familiar world i knew would now never be the same.
