how do you feel about getting old?
my parents are almost 70. my dad just had (another) stint put in his heart. when i hugged my mother on her recent birthday,she felt just like my grandmother used to. my mom was 35 when she had me,so i was always used to them being older than most of my friends parents. i just never thought of them as old till recently.
i've always said i never wanted to be old. i've never acted my age,but you know what i mean. i have found that the thought of growing old with someone,however, could be such a wonderful and amazing thing.
being with one person for the rest of your life. becoming one person with them. having that person explain to the waitress at the upscale,national-chained mexican restaurant that "he wants two tacos and a burrito" after i folded the menu saying "i'll have number 6 please."
