I dreamt about you last night. Even though we have never met in person, in the dream I felt like I really knew you. Like we had been friends forever. We drank wine from a box, ate smores, played poker and told hilarious stories of our many misadventures. You were even funnier in person. And oh so beautiful. I woke up missing you. I wish you'd come back.

Another rainy day. Been a lot of that lately. Mostly I like it. But today I'd like a little sun. I'd like to take my cats outside and lay in the sun. Watch them chase things both real and imaginary. Dream of a simpler, carefree life.

I dread this time of year. All of my wife's friends & relatives will be coming around soon begging for her to help them with their taxes. I don't like being around these people ever, but I especially hate it when they are moaning about how much money they are going to owe. It's the same damn thing every year. You would think they would start making sure enough is being taken out of their check.

Don't get me wrong. I don't believe in letting the government hang on to my money interest free all year. It's been years since I got a refund. But I make sure I'm not going to owe in a lot either. It's not that hard. Why can't they just plan ahead a little?
