Whoosh!
I've been all over the damn place, lately...mostly because of classes.
Just thought I'd give an update on shite.
Classes:
-Authoring Interactive Media II is quite interesting. And by "interesting", I mean "unethical". I really like my teacher, but he was originally teaching fine art classes at Columbia, and now teaches web development classes. It's not that he doesn't know what he's doing; it's just that he applies too much of his fine-arts knowledge to this class, in which half of the students can't grasp what he's trying to teach.
For our first project, we have to design and implement a website that bridges research, creative strategies and expressive communication. That's fine and dandy...but we had to write a 10-page paper as our research! And of course, my dumb-ass decides to choose the topic of Multiple Personality Disorder. A-weeee...
All in all, for a web development class I think this is a bit over the top.
-Self Identity and the Mind-Brain is pretty epic as well. I've probably done more talking in this class than any other class I've taken at Columbia. It's damn hilarious listening to some of the debates we have. There's this one broad who will always go against what the majority of the class agrees with. I think she just likes to argue, which is fine, but she takes it so damn personally! She actually stood up and pounded on her table during a debate one day, like a little kid.
This broad pretty much makes my day.
-All of the other classes are standard. No good stories to tell about them...yet..?!?
Upcoming shows:
-October 22nd at Logan Square Auditorium, HORSE the band, with Between the Buried and Me, Animosity and The End. My big brudder just told me about this show, so I may go even though it's on a Monday.
-October 25th at the Riviera, scarekrow and I are going to see Queens of the Stone Age, with The Black Angels and Biffy Clyro. This will be my first time seeing them, so I's be excited.
-October 27th at Empty Bottle, my friend Josh and I are going to see Jesu, with Torche and Fog. Jesu is definitely in my top-10, so this show will be most enjoyable (especially since I'm gonna be so close to the stage).
-November 4th at Empty Bottle, Neurosis. Not sure if I can go to this one yet, but we shall see...
To do list:
-Find the time to make requested websites for people.
-Practice tattooing more (on grapefruit, not skin).
-Do more painting; specifically, a horse (or unicorn?) with butterflies bursting out of it's stomach.
-Get mah momma a birthday present; she just turned 50. She sure as hell doesn't look like it, though! In fact, when we moved to Mokena, the neighbors were trying to figure out if she was the daughter or the wife.
-Clean. There's a Jimmy John's sammich, wrapped in a bag, lurking somewhere in my room. I think I should find it soon...
Alright, I think I've updated enough.
I'm off to work now.

yeah, i saw Justin a bunch of times early in the evening, too - he was in a great mood, lots of smiling and laughing. kind of funny to see him like that.
so are you going to the Neurosis show? we might get another chance to meet up if you are.
