Blog Homework 1/27: Tell us about a time you formed or broke a habit and how you did it

Just recently I have put myself on a vegetarian diet. I'm not going to call myself a vegetarian, because I think that's just putting unneeded pressure on myself. Plus, I'm only approaching my third week. I think if I last 6 months to a year, I will wear the label.

How did I do it? Well, there's not a single answer to it, so I will give you a few short answers.

-I asked myself, what would be easier to give up; meat or sugar? Without even blinking, meat was the first answer that popped into my head.

-I think people who love to let vegetarians/vegans know that they eat meat are stupid.

-I never thought it was hard to go a meal without meat, so I thought I would test myself and see how many days I could go. I'm up to two weeks now.

Going vegetarian isn't really that hard, and it has made me more creative with the food I eat. Eating meat is easy. You get it at fast food restaurants. You order it without even thinking. When you take it away, all the sudden you have to think about what you're putting into your body. And there's actually a lot of delicious food out there that's vegetarian.

Anyway, I'm not here to preach or anything. If you eat meat, that's fine. Hell, I will probably go back to it at some point myself. But I also don't like putting a stigma on people who choose not to.

@zelena The biggest problem I've been having is that a lot of the meals I'm having aren't as filling as meals with meat. This in turn has led me to eat more than I usually would. Which is interesting, because the usually stereotype of vegetarians is that they're super skinny and malnourished, but I've managed to pretty much maintain my weight the last few weeks.
