So, I spent the weekend working on an assignment that was due a few hours ago. It wasn't anywhere near my best work - in fact, it was probably the worst assignment I ever did for university - but I persevered and eventually got it done. I submitted it and I walked away, played video games for a while.
Something was strange about the submission though. I was used to having online submissions, with deadlines at 11:59pm, but this submission just didn't add up. I didn't get any confirmation and the assignment wasn't on the website. Turns out when I uploaded my assignment, I forgot to confirm the submission.
The result? After spending the entire weekend working on this paper, one mistake means I get a zero for something that is worth 40% of my final grade for the subject. The only way I can pass the subject is if I get just about a perfect score on an exam with 70 questions.
Needless to say I was a wreck when I realised I didn't submit the paper properly; I usually pride myself on my attention to detail. I guess it was a fitting end to an assignment that really shouldn't have deserved a passing grade in the first place.
