I bought a new laptop today! I'm quite happy with it. I'm happy with it, but troubled by the fact that it doesn't seem to want to play the first game I tried to install on it. Oh well. I was just benchmarking anyway, this thing is primarily for work. I plan on running shows off of it come summer, and I actually find it...

Nah, I am in Philly and am planning to get back late this evening.

Salem? No kidding. Well, let me know if you can meet up, or if I can drive down for something.
A political moment:
This week, the Supreme Court is hearing a case in which the Justices will have to rule on the validity of global warming and the role of the government in solving the problem (or if it should even HAVE one). Judging from the analysis on Slate.com, the opinion of some of the honored Justices is something akin to "but what can WE...

Too true. We'll be back on the 26th. Does that help at all?

Cardozo's in Midtown Manhattan.
An even more brief update:
Within five feet of my current position, I have Final Fantasy 12, Guitar Hero 2, and a whole pizza all to myself. Also, The Simpsons is about to start.
Now THAT is a Sunday evening.

Production meetings start for the show I will be assistant directing this winter. Information can be found at http://www.rorschachtheatre.com/default.aspx?webpage=roughmagic. Those who know me...

Hey, I came to say thanks for putting together the shindig last night, and see you're not on my friends list? I thought you were! Weren't you? Did you un-friend me? Am I still drunk??
All these burning questions and more!

I just saw your messages about chat. My computer isn't near my xbox so I didn't see them until now. Hehe.
A brief update.
As of this week, I am very, very, very, very busy. This will go on for quite some time.
If everything goes as planned, though, 2007 will be the best year of my professional life.
Hopefully, I will soon have enough free time to go into all the bloody details for you, my beloved Friends and Readers.

Yes, the modicum of cool that I added by returning to the site can be offset by all of the post-CSI members.

Warning: Potentially Emo Journal Entry Ahead
(Aside: Or as emo as I get, anyway.)
(Second Aside: What, does "emo" mean, anyway?)
I had a sort of ephiphany this week. A minor revelation, if you will. I was walking along with a friend of mine, enjoying this wonderous fall weather the District is experiencing this week. Of course, those who know me well, will infer that...

There are so many interesting things to do in D.C., if you put in a little effort to find them. The Borders near my workplace dowtime has book signings and discussions something like every other day. I've seen people like Ted Kennedy, Cindy Sheehan, and various other politicians and diginataries.
The best of all came Friday night. Al Franken (you know him as "Stuart Smally"...

The concert was AWESOME!! I will probably post a blog about it when I have more energy...
BTW, glad to see so many pics of the party going up...it makes me all the more sad that I wasn't there.
Oh, and if you want to see pale, look at pics of me...I'm practically transparent.

I totally thought you were going for a Mr Roboto look and wearing silver makeup.

Another kick ass SGDC event. Thanks to everyone who came out!

I would've liked to come but I really needed a low-key weekend after the last few, plus transportation was an issue. I'll be there next time!
Meanwhile, haven't checked out the new venue of Bound yet. How is it, have you been?
And isn't my friend Helen adorable? (from SMBX)

Ach! I disapprove of clubs requiring cars to get to. It's fucking DC, how hard is it to get it near a Metro stop?
Some Random Notes:
- The women at my office are trying to marry me off. Every woman in her 20s is fair game. Pity the poor temps. What's worse, some of them have the notion that I should start breeding. Frightening, I know.
- A few months ago I was awoken at 2 AM by a man, soused to say the least, giving a sermon...

Breeding. Yikes. You're so young for that sort of thing.
Wow, you really can't beat Jon Stewart! He's charismatic, hilarious, and one of the few 40 year olds I'd consider fucking.
I applied for SG DC as you said I ought to.

Dear Person I don't really know,
I just applied for SGDC as i'm flying there friday for a few days over the weekend. (then going up to Philly and NY).
I've never been there. i know very little about the actual city and what's fun there and was hoping something magical in your group might lead me in the right direction.
I realize it's short notice and i don't know when you make vouch threads. but I'm in SGNY. And SGLA obviously. Ask any of those assholes. I'm safe. I swear.
thanks much and maybe i'll bump into you in a few days.

i sent resumes to centerstage, wolly mammoth, and signature. i got responses from signature (current call filled but i'm on their list now) and wolly (working a load in for them this weekend). other than centerstage ignoring me, again, things are looking up.

Sorry I ended up backing out last night. I had a bit of a panic attack. That = bad.

I know, I know. I heard most of that dumb speech live, as my boss plays (egad) Fox News radio all day at work. I took some heart in that he implied somewhere in there that he'd give the generals there more autonomy in doing their jobs. I figure ANY general can figure out tactics better than Bush or his dingbat puppeteers.
