As I was walking home tonight, sirens starting blasting from all around me, and four or five cop cars roared by. Next thing I know, police cars are canvassing the neighborhood, getting thicker as I get closer to my house.
Sure enough, I turn the corner onto my street, and it is loaded with flashing lights. I asked one of the cops on the corner what happened.
" A shooting," he says. "Don't worry though, nobody actually got shot."
Oh yeah, that makes me feel better.
On a brighter note, I've gone out a couple times with a girl from my office. We have quite a bit in common, and have been flirting like crazy for a couple weeks now. We're going to see Shawn of the Dead tomorrow.
Later that night, I'm heading to a huge party at a semi-undisclosed location. All I know is that it's one of the bigger parties in DC this Halloween, and that it's at an old hospital building. It's hosted by the New York Times reporter some of you might remember if you've kept up with my comings and goings.
On Sunday night, I'll hopefully be gothing it up at one of the local Halloween club nights. This is my first big city Halloween, and I want to do it right.
I went to see the Dresden Dolls two nights ago and now am I committed fan. It was one of the best shows I'd ever seen. Much love to Vivy for turning me on to them back in the day, poor girl moved away just beforet the show was announced, and they are her favorite band.
My spare free time this week has been spent playing GTA: San Andreas. Quite good, but it's all just a precursor to Half-Life 2. After that though, I need to cool it on the purchased. As life progresses, video games just don't hold the same appeal to me that they used to. Is this what growing up and getting a real life is like?
