So, wrestling was fun. Sure, I'm still a bit sore, and have a bit of mat-burn on my elbows, but I expected it. At least I didn't get a splitting headache the day after, which happened when I practiced with Chaotic last year.
Surprisingly, there was only one minor problem with my match. The ring is in the middle of a martial arts school, so there are various items strewn about, like wodden breaking boards and concrete blocks, waiting to be chopped, kicked, and punched into oblivion. At one point I was to pin my opponent, and have him throw me off of him and through the ropes onto the floor. But, as I fell out of the ring, my arm landed one if the aforementioned concrete bricks. I have a slight bruise and a few scrapes to remind me of that one. Other than that, everything went rather well. And yes, I won.
In fact. the whole event went well, and everyone seemed to enjoy my match. A few even were surprised by how well I did considering that it was my first match, and that I haven't been properly trained. Maybe this wrestling thing comes to me a bit more naturally than I had thought! In fact one guy, who not only has recieved a bit of training, but also stuck out as, to me and a few others, the star of the night, invited me to have a match with him at some point. He also came into my store today with the guy who refereed my match, and invited me to go to another event next month. Yet again, maybe I should start believing some of the good things people tell me about myself, instead of furthering my self-doubt by thinking that they were just "being nice".
After the wrestling match, I went out to Cambridge to attend a house-warming party at my friend Paul's (Another namecheck!) new place. It was a great way to end the night, as I was still coming down off of my adrenaline rush and getting out of my zone, or character, as some may say. We (boundcreature, jebustheimpaler, ThePants, sapphic_plastic, and I) sat out on his roof/porch beneath the stars and chatted for a few hours, all while a small meteor shower occured. Other than dancing, I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday night with some of my closest friends than that.
No updates on the relationship front. Each day that passes without achievement of any real resolution to my problem(s) just furthers my belief in this statement relayed to me by boundcreature:
Girls are stoopid. And evil.
