I opened up my bags from camping last night, and other than the odor of wet clothes, there was a smell that made me have an interesting reaction as it made it's way through me. It was the scent of a campfire. I never thought something as simple as that would not only make me smile, but also long for my friends, new and old.

It was odd falling asleep last night then waking up this morning, and not hearing familiar voices partaking in conversation. It's odd to not have a mass of people to chat with, whenever the urge to struck me.

punkrockjuliette has had me bookmarked for almost three months, and has never said a word. But now, she'd better be keeping in contact with me, because she was one of my favorite new friends I made. Her taste in music had me, and countless others, gravitating towards her tent every night.

Checking out the fireflies in the field/forest with Persya and Sid was great. Too bad those pictures didn't come out Persya...

I miss the newest member of Team Most Ultimatest, Finch. The late night walks/talks we had made me feel a bit better about myself. She's a friend in the truest sense of the word, and I'm so glad she came. I'm just hoping I'll get to see her more often than once a year from now on.

ThePants, boundcreature (When he wasn't occupied with Palo), and Granny, and interestingly enough, Sid also helped me out with some of my other dark moments on the trip.

Rafting was great. Seantastic decided to kayak along with us, and did an awesome job. It was such an awesome job that boundcreature and ThePants made a haiku for him, and then demanded that Palo and I create one as well. It took me a while to figure one out, as Palo didn't seem too keen on the idea.

The Great SG Boston Naval Battle was nothing short of awesome. Fourteen people, two boats, endless amounts of water being tossed between said boats, and
smiles all around. Oh, and my team won. wink

There was a horrific car accident that occured on the way home, and luckily, no one in our convoy was involved. The first thing I saw was a car in the leftmost lane (There were four lanes) swerve and start driving almost perpendicular to the road, clip the front of a car in the far right (Or was it middle right?) lane, and then continue over a median, over an off-ramp, and settle in a ditch on the side of said off-ramp. I don't know what it was, but something told me to pull over immediately and start helping out.

Since I saw the accident from a close viewpoint (Although not as close as Frost, yikes! I'm surprised she didn't shit herself.), the state trooper needed me to fill out witness paper-work. We didn't find out how the people involved turned out, but I think everyone was somewhat alright.

To everyone involved in the planning and execution of this past weekend, you deserve so much respect and thanks for your efforts. derceto, Fenchurch, minimalism909, SouthernBelle, SteveNeurotic, and Stiles, you guys rock. And a huge shout-out to Mylf and Pip for everything you did. I owe you big.

My biggest highlight of all of the highlights on the trip was meeting someone I never expected to. We had a great time talking to eachother, and she made me forget about all the issues I've been dealing with as of late.

The only question I'm left with is, should I call her first, or wait for her to call me?

July 19 2005 12:26 AM - Already called her before I left for work earlier tonight. Got the voicemail. Left a message. Nothing yet. Now we play the waiting game.
