Spiral Insana

Went to ye olde jobbe shoppe interview today at Convergys, which was kind of cool since my old job was a dump and this one actually has more than one building, and they are all huge, and etc...

Fingers double crossed, the interview went well, despite my choice of wearing a Nehru jacket and ostridge ploom pimp's hat... that aside, hopefully I am fit to offer assistance to internet users so they can get on w/ their busy lifestyles downloading porn, and looking for the Paris Hilton sex-tape.

The Ollie Vigil Continues.

Love Love, My Season.

The Unexplorer
There was a road ran past our house
Too lovely to explore
I asked my mother once--- she said
That if you followed where it led
It brought you to the milk-man's door.
(That's why I have not traveled more.)

---Edna St. Vincent Millay 1923

I hate you, Don't Leave me. I've never read this book... Though I adore the title. I don't know if it would tell me anything more about dealing with people I have known, and their borderline personality disorders than I allready have experienced, the violent mood swings, the reversal of all emotional fortunes. The cover is a little corny which keeps me from even buying it, though I'm a closet psych junky, being a psychotic psychoactive drug junky myself.

Night Falls Fast by Kay Redfield Jamison has helped me by far and large, maybe hurt me some too, because it is like Calypso, in its tale of the allures of suicide... it quotes, Suicide is a death like no other... and it is exceptionally true.

Half the time I feel like a genius, half the time a maniac, and perhaps more than likely I'm neither. Addendum, most probably I'm just a unawares jerk. but the only thing I ever wanted to say, was wrong, was wrong, was wrong.

If I wasn't reading so much to prepare a manuscript I'd be reading more of these books, but I can essentially get the same feelings reading The Awful Rowing Towards God (sorry, no link... it's out of print, and only available as part of a collection)...

Oh, and Good Morning, Midnight is fairly telling about the complexities of the human mind, even those driven by the reflexions of genius.

I have gone out, a possessed witch,
haunting the black air, braver at night;
dreaming evil, I have done my hitch
over the plain houses, light by light:
lonely thing, twelve-fingered, out of mind.
A woman like that is not a woman, quite.
I have been her kind.

I have found the warm caves in the woods,
filled them with skillets, carvings, shelves,
closets, silks, innumerable goods;
fixed the suppers for the worms and the elves:
whining, rearranging the disaligned.
A woman like that is misunderstood.
I have been her kind.

I have ridden in your cart, driver,
waved my nude arms at villages going by,
learning the last bright routes, survivor
where your flames still bite my thigh
and my ribs crack where your wheels wind.
A woman like that is not ashamed to die.
I have been her kind.

Her Kind - Anne Sexton. - 1960.
