Hey, kids! It's another update from Your Friendly Neighborhood Freak.

How's all of you doing? I'm doing OK these days. I spent yesterday and most of today house/catsitting for friends of mine while they were out of state attending to pressing matters. Since I couldn't make it down w/them, I offered to stay here and help clean and take care of the 3 kitties while they were gone. So that's how my time went.

Other than that, it's been pretty much "same old, same old." Though I have to say, I'm loving this awesome weather we've been having lately. Now, all we need is for the trees and flowers to stop looking all dead and I will be one happy bitch.

Now, for those of you unfortunate souls that missed it, my last blog, the blog before that, and the blog before that have all been telling the story of my trip to Texas visiting sillyokio. Now, without further ado, the final (and delayed) final chapter...

But before that, speaking of sillyokio, I would like to ask nay, command all of you to go send her some love. She could use it.

C'mon, if not for her, but for your almost bestest friend who says something funny once in a while. wink

thefreak Invades Texas - Part Four - More Sites, More Food, and the Trip Home

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Having left the Dallas World Aquarium, Okio and I soon saw the weather had improved immensely. So, we decided to walk through Dallas in search of something cool she wanted me to check out.

I've no clue what this is, but I found it cool.

We would soon come to our destination...

...the Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive.

That's right, a bunch of big, bronze longhorns.

Me and my goofy-ass, "monkey baring teeth" smile.

Okio, being not so camera-shy. tongue

^That^ is a memorial to the Confederacy. Figured, "What the hell, I'm in Texas." biggrin

What is it w/me and waterfalls?

We soon started making our way back to the car, and I decided to take some more cool pics of the scenery.

What is it w/me and weird murals?

What is it w/me and cacti?

As we got back to the car and started driving, we realized we were both getting hungry. So, Okio decided to bring me to yet another Texas institution...

...Whataburger!

I proceeded to chow down on a regular Whataburger, which put your regular fast-food to shame. SHAME, I says!

Our lunch finished, we soon went back to Okio's and chilled out. Though, once dinnertime came, I couldn't be in Texas w/o having, as Okio put it, "REAL steak" and live it down.

So, on we drove, until we made it to...

...Texas Land & Cattle Steak House.

AAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEE! LONGHORN HEAD! shocked

Sadly, my camera's battery was pretty much gone @this point, so I didnt' get a chance to take a pic of my uber-delicious steak. However, in the upper right-hand corner is an appetizer that is absolute SEX...fried pickles. biggrin

ABSOLUTE SEX.

After dinner, I thanked the manager personally for introducing me to excellent Texas cuisine, and Okio and I soon made our way back for my final sleep down South.

Early Tuesday morning, we arrived @DFW airport, and I unfortunately said my goodbyes and thanked Okio for an awesome time. I proceeded to check in, made a spur-of-the-moment decision (more on that later), and hung around for my flight.

This was me attempting to give my camera @least some charge.

Now, I pose a question to you, Gentle Reader.

Who looks more likely to eat your soul?

This baby, or...

...Jeff Foxworthy?

For the second time on my trip, I partook in the Airport Breakfast of Champions.

It would be the first time, however, I would experience a delay in my flight. A delay to the point it was making me quite nervous as to whether I'd make my connecting flight on time (I went from DFW to St. Louis, then was scheduled from there to Boston).

After an almost hour delay, I was finally on the plane and up in the air. Thankfully, the weather on the flightpath was a lot better than my flight down, and made for cooler pic opportunities.

No clue where I was here, but hey, it's aerial scenery, right?

I soon touched down in St. Louis w/just enough time to take a piss and run to the terminal for my connecting flight. Not even enough time to pick up some local souvenirs. frown

Now, back to the aforementioned "spur-of-the-moment decision"...as I was going through the self check-in @DFW, it turns out they were giving me the opportunity to upgrade my flights. I had originally decided on coach all the way, but figured if I'm going to have a long flight from St. Louis to back home, I might as well fly in style. So, Your Humble Narrator plunked down $90 to go first class.

And it was soon apparent the perks I would get. Comfier seats, more leg room, and...

...BIG, HONKIN' SALAD!

The tiny pile above it is the raisins I had to pick out. The glass of wine was the first of three. I'm surprised I didn't get toastier. wink

What is it w/me and...yeah, you get it @this point.

I soon touched down safely @Logan, and then proceeded to bebop on buses and trains before making my way to Fitchburg, where Heather was waiting to pick me up.

It was an amazing trip, filled w/great food, awesome fun, and the company of a great gal, who I still miss. Honkey_Kong (aka GrumpyGringo) is a lucky guy. wink

All in all, I hope to make my way to the Lone Star State again someday. smile

THE END

That's all for now, kids. Yet another long-ass blog commenting excursion awaits. As always I hope you are all well. smile

Stay tuned...

I'd never seen the show until a few weeks ago and I really like it since I love all food related things. I thought they were Milk & Cheese knock off at first. I can't seem to escape the milkshakes.
