I've always had a thing for Greek mythology. Tantalus has haunted me since I learned about his punishment. If anyone doesn't know Tantalus was being punished for his greed. He was sentenced to stand before a tree in a pool of water. He was starving and parched. Yet when he tried to grasp the fruit from the tree it would move just far enough away that he couldn't quite grab them. The water too would recede from his hands when he tried to take a drink. There has never been a better metaphor for my love life.
