I broke my back when I was 13. Compression fracture, so no risk of paralysis. But because I was in the midst of puberty and growth, the doctors decided it was best to not try to fix it, because it could harm, or be harmed by, growing. So my lower back healed, but not quite right. The vertebrae are off killer just enough to have left me with chronic pain. But I never let that stop me. I enlisted in the Army when I was 17. Only 3 years in, due to an unrelated knee injury, but my bad back didn’t stop me. All it did was give me a hell of a tolerance for pain. I acknowledge hurting, but unless it’s something dramatic, I don’t let pain stop me. If I’m unable to do my current job because of pain, that’s because I’ve reached at least a 9 on the pain scale. I’ve taken this, living with pain, and turned it into my life. As a caretaker, I help others because I know what it means to be unable to help myself. And dealing with some personal pain is nothing if I can help a cancer patient or stroke victim have less worry in their lives.

FOOD. I'm talking about food... I have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning at 645. I can ONLY have clear fluid today. No breakfast. no lunch, no dinner. I've had to avoid seeds, grapes, berries, nuts, granola, whole grain wheat, bread, aspirin, red and blue food coloring... I think it's just easier to not eat after all😆🤷♀️
