did NOT have a great date with record store girl -- she was showing much more attention to another guy at the club than to me. now i got her into the show, picked her up, then drove her and her roommate back to their house, and i just wasn't getting the kind of interest i felt beforehand -- that's not very good, man. now this COULD have been a reaction to my very genial talking to everyone mode as well as my need to go backstage and hang with everyone for a while, but still -- i'm not into games i'm into being direct so i just you know, am not planning on making lots of babies with her tonight!
social situations like that of course are real difficult so i'd be open to giving it one more try with her, maybe... regardless i'm not all hung up on the thing and really enjoyed our intense flirtation action.
the SHOW on the other hand was fabulous -- davendra banhartt and the angels of light -- was great to see them perform and hang too -- gira was a smart misanthropic asshole and nice guy at the same time like always and davendra the sweetest lil brilliant guy around.
the bandmates were really great guys too i had this instant connection with 'em both i know i sound cheesey saying that or gay -- but believe me sometimes i totally wish i was gay it seems like it would be *easier* i do not understand women very well at all, esp. when i think i understand 'em. seem slike with a guy you'd understand shit more (and talk about stuff a lot less!) but it's just not for me...
where was i? the lap steel player for gira gave me a cd-r of an album he made with nick cave's drummer and chris spedding and said he doesn't have a label and they do a nick cave-y cover of kraftwerk's "autobahn" and yes i think i want to put it out -- they sing in french and german and english and it's real fucking cool-- "playtime" by les hommes sauvages...
oh my god i wish i were a girl i'd be in love with davendra banhart he is sooo fucking rad.
other bumemr about tonight is i missed another show entirely -- kyoto-based japanese electronica guy nobukazu takemura who some friends were playing with tonight -- god i love that guy sooo much too i think he's a stone cold genius.
FUCK i have to wake up in like 5 1/2 hours!
but you know what? i think that's liek the first time i've ever had a weird time out with some girl i dig where it didn't tear me up inside when things didn't go like i planned. maybe i really AM growing up???!!
sleep beckons it has entirely filled me up i am a cement buckethead. "got no head -- just a bucket with teeth"!
