QUESTIONS FIRST

OKAY
THERMALS and DEATH CAB show last night was fun -- Thermals get better each time I see 'em (fun/ smart/ raw pop punk like early Guided By Voices meets Buzzcocks and the Urinals and the bass player she is totally adorable.) Death Cab played a buncha new songs and shit they are ready for the stadiums I mean that in the best possible way -- such smart anthems -- new drummer is really good though I miss the old one he was weirder.
DCFC sold the new YETI at their merch booth -- they are super nice kids and I really like the Stone Roses cover they did for the CD in YETI 2. In the end I came up with just enough $$ to give to my brother so he and his kid can have fun together this weekend (my bro, he's outta work and he don't even live in the same city as his son -- he's in Portland his kid is in Seattle. I try to help out when I can. Plus my bro helped me get a buncha YETI CDs & books assembled...)
My nephew, E, he rules!!! I try to see E a few times a week but sometimes it's only once a week. He's 4 1/2 now and he's reallt smart and he really likes me and it's just the fucking COOLEST THING ON EARTH when he perks up 'cause I've come to visit, to hear him say "Unka Mike! Unka Mike is heeeeere!" and then we'll play race cars or puppy dogs or throwing stuff in the air or whatever. It's really cool, you can have like a long conversation with him now, even on the phone. His personality is just exploding. Being an aunt/ uncle is one of the msot amazing things on Earth I think. I have three brothers/ sisters and they all have or are about to have kids -- I'm the only one solo.
My sister K and her partner C have actually adopted my brother's second kid, who's the result of an unintended hookup 'twixt my bro and his still not yet ex wife. Ya follow me, here!?? This thing was carried out like a plan -- as soon as my bro's not yet ex found out she was pregnant she called my sis and her girlfriend and offered to carry the child to term for them!!! So that girl is totally a love child, and she's an adorable girl, almost 1 years old I gotta get my ass to Oakland and visit them again soooooon! Maybe after SXSW?
