Oh what a night!

Compered my first open mic nite and it was amazing!!!

I don't think my hosting was great but I was really lucky with the acts and the atmosphere was brilliant. It was really nice coz the former host (who quit so he could perform some songs) said it was really well organised and I could take over permanantly if I wanted.

Which is nice.

I'll probably add more later, but I have to say one act we had was fucking incredible. It started off as a pretty shaky night. We only had three acts and there was barely 10 people at the start, but it really filled up and then I got approached by a guy who wanted to do a bit of a guitar with a girl singing but she couldn't come til ten. I said it was fine and put them on a the end of the list.

It was so fucking worth it.

I gave them a quick intro and sat down to talk to my mate. We didnt get much converation. When this girl sang the room went silent. What a fucking voice! It was incredible. It was soulul and beautiful, a Norah Jones right in my Student Union bar. My mate got their numbers straight after the set (I was stupidly in the loo). They are so playing a gig sometime soon. It was incredible. I'm still in shock. Her name is Sam, and that is sadly all I know. She is one to watch though. I can't wait to see her perform again.

Amazing night. Got to sit down and reflect.
