Here's an older poem I haven't posted yet..

Safe Sex

I made love to her when she wasnt looking,
when her back was turned I fell pen to paper
and composed this poem like an act of passion-playing.
I took my time to drink her up;
and like a bourbon shiver down the spine,
her ravenette beauty inebriated the best of me
into a fervor of jesus-shouting jubilee.

Peering from this journal,
I studied hard her shape
& fantasized long her form,
I searched for metaphors in the shadows of the norm.
And with these eyes closed,
I imagined these words are these fingers,
surfing all her skin,
and with these eyes closed,
I dreamt these rhymes are these lips,
savoring all the sin.

So, I made love to her when she wasnt looking
I did it all with this pen and paper.

I wrote this poem to describe why I write some of the poetry that I do.
I tend to write more "Romantic" poetry than anything else, which is grossly ironic because I have horrid experience in matters of the heart.
I have my own thoughts on why this is. I've got little self esteem, certainly none with body image. A life time of health complications created this scrawny little kid.. No girls seem to want to that unless they are desperate for attention and have no qualms with being a tease.
All I feel like I have going for me is my heart and head. I was blessed with a larger than life heart and a brain that feeds of creativity.
Because I have severe chronic back pain I tend to be more sensitive to the beautiful things in life...

It is an interesting conundrum. I wouldn't be the writer/person I am today without all the hell I go thru dealing with my screaming back and malfunctioning endocrine system.
