I finally got my half sleeve started on wednesday and i am totally in love with it!!! Was in for a good 4 and a bit hours. first hour was spent getting the design drawn onto my arm, then i had the whole piece outlined in grey and then he went over most of it again in black.
I expected my inner arm to hurt like a bitch - based on what i've heard from people here - but i actually found it to be not that sore. It sure nipped to start with but it wasn't what i'd call really painful. Even my armpit wasn't too bad, just stung a bit more!
I'm already thinking of extending it to a 3/4 sleeve but not sure whether i should hold off on that or jus get it done now. sorry bout the crappy pics but i can't find my digital camera so these were taken on my phone camera
it's hard to tell what it is at this point! basically it's 3 peonies with water bars and waves going over the flowers and wind bars which will stretch down to inner elbow.

it goes around the back of my shoulder and onto my back a little as well but that's only been done in grey ink just now, as well as some of the inner arm so pics of that will come shortly!
next session is gonna be colour and a bit of shading and the rest of the outlines finished...i can't wait!!

I might have to get that book
as far as the new layout goes, every time they change it they make it less usable, less intuitive and more annoying. From reading the boards there seems to be a lot of "we're just trying something" etc.. I not really sure they have any idea ...
How's your sleeve going ? A friend of mine had a henna sleeve painted on recently for a shoot. It took 3-4 days for it to fade off.. it was really noticable the difference in the way people spoke to her.. hehe. she looked fucking hardcore ;-)
