There is hope this evening. However, watching a 60 year old woman go through severe withdrawal from years of opiate abuse is terrifying.

So I get back to the hospital with my stuff to spend the night, and she's in arm restraints. It breaks my heart to see her like that. she's asking me to take them off, but i can't. wow...just wow.

After seeing her, for the first time I'm starting to think that my mom might not make it. There is almost none of her old self there now, and i have no idea if it's going to come back. I hate to post a downer, but it's true. no one reads this anyway.

There are people that read this, so don't worry. I work with a ton of critical patients and there is ALWAYS hope. Keep her in your prayers...even if you aren't religious...if its meant to happen like this, she will be better off. I know its hard, but try and look for the good in this situation. I'll keep her in my prayers and if you need someone to talk to, I'm all ears smile

So, mom has been in the hospital for almost 3 weeks now. The problem now is the withdrawal from her increasingly apparent hydrocodone addiction. Total hallucinations. So weird and sad. So along with trating her for her foot issue that led to her hospitalization, the staff now has that to contend with. Wow.

Nice! Well, I have three separate tanks: one for my betta, the other for tropical fish which includes guppies, tetras, glowfish, and a catfish, and the third is for my albino dwarf frog. I had to separate the frog from my tropical fishes because he's getting bigger and every so often he liked to eat them. Rascal! biggrin What kind of fish do/did you have?

I'm a south american cichlid guy. had to give up my 125 gallon tank recently...it was such a sweet setup. i had tw0 main fishies. a really big managuense (jaguar cichlid) and a red devil. both were around 13" (still are, they're doing well in their new homes. I've had frogs before, and yes, they do have a tendency to eat the fish that aren;t on the menu. i also had a couple of crawfish that were rescued from the boiling pot. those things are smart!!

Having a daughter is so rad. I had Emery's 4th at Chuck E Cheese's this weekend. it was too freakin fun. She's a kickass little kid and a helluva chick magnet. i swear...

Wow...someone paid to renew my membership. sweet! the job hunt is over and I'm loving things again. making good money, travelin'...all is well. my daughter's 4th birthday is this weekend. chuck-e-cheese's. Awesome!
