you know, i think my favorite thing about SG is the fact that due to my handle, many members of this site instantly criticize anything and everything i say. shit, it's amusing that if i make a comment on something completely unrelated to politics, there's an instant backlash against me. it's funny, have any of these people even read anything i've written?
Here's some things that i believe...updated for 2009.
1. I believe there is no god. period. end of story. not agnostic, atheist. i'll be happy to talk about how i came to that with anyone who desires it.
2. (this is where the conservative part comes in) i believe that the government should stay out of peoples' business. less of the government is a good thing. i don't trust the government to make decisions in my best interests.
3. i also believe that this is the greatest, freest country on earth, and i'm proud to call this place my home, warts and all.
4. i believe that the death penalty should be abolished. it's barbaric.
5. i believe that while abortion should be legal, it's horrifying to me how it is used as birth control. i think that girls who use it as such should be ashamed of having done it, or at least not be proud of the fact that they did it.
6. i believe that by and large, people should be entitled to keep what they earn. i'm not an anarchist, i believe that the government is necessary.
7. i believe that people are much to quick to convict people before they have had the benefit of a trial. that just always pisses me off.
8. i believe that things aren't always as bad as people like to make it out to be. i've come through a very tough life, and i'm as happy as i've ever been.
9. i believe that people are born gay, and that's just the way they are. for some reason, i've had trouble believing that gays should be allowed to marry, i don't know why i feel that way, maybe it's just a foreign idea to me. at any rate, gays are cool by me. i know a bunch of gay people, and they can party like no others.
that's all i can think of now. it's alte and i'm drunk. please comment on this, so i know if anyone has read it.

That's because people are dumb and certain words just solicit an instant reaction out of them. "I saw the word Conservative, I need no more investigation before I come to my conclusions" I guarantee you the same people self-label 'open-minded' or some such garbage.
