what happens when you've slept for almost 12 hours and wake up to find that a hurricane is on it's way???

I've been such an idiot lately way too busy to keep up with current events. I woke up at 6:30 this morning because my friend Cory from Jersey was calling (drunk albeit) worried about me and wanted to make sure i was ok. This seems funny because
A- i really didn't know much about this storm.
B- She's a recovering alcoholic
C- I slept through a friday night? FUCK!!!

Now i'm up and i'm watching the news, and you know that can never be good. The media always exaggerates things, ...as of right now it looks like we're gonna die...and so far it's the worst hurricane season to date because there have never ever in the history of hurricane season been 4 named storms by july...
being that i saw war of the worlds the other night i am now officially freaked out over natural disasters, and possible alien invasion.... (where's my scared for my life emoticon?) Somebody hold me!
