Top of the morning to ya!
Im nowhere near Irish but I just love saying that. My Tuesday is going ok so far- Im at work and actually getting stuff done (how about that for a change?) Im feeling much better, no more coughing
Weekend was good. Best part was the show. Oh man, what to say, what to say! To say I had a great fin time isnt even enough. It was just soo great. The show was sold out 17,000 people! There were 3 stages and a lot of back and forth to catch all the bands. Of course I missed the boat on getting a program so I could know what the fuck was going on. So I missed the PUSA- I was very bummed out over this. Theyre just such a happy go lucky band that I thought it would be fun. Oh well. I did however get to see this band story of the year OMG they were great.
They rocked the crowd, moshpits and lots of crowdsurfing going on. I was very impressed that the guitarist was wearing a Pantera shirt- especially because the guy next to him was wearing a pink shirt with matching belt. It just seemed odd to me, but I was really floored when they broke out into a pantera song. I was in heaven!
I was reminiscent of my Phil Anselmo crush until I almost got kicked in the head. I remember being 17 thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread- and I thought since we shared a birthday we were meant to be. God I was dumb!
Sevendust as always was great. Nonpoint to me was a nice surprise. I guess because I never used to be too much a fan. I always think that until I hear a band live I havent really heard them. They ended their set with a Spanish song- and it was fuckin awesome- my Latina side was shakin my butt to the beat- and loving every second. Seeing Korn was such a joy. I havent seen them since 95 when they opened for Megadeth for the Youthanasia tour. DAMN! Remember that album? Now I feel old (not that seeing a bunch of 12-17 year old punk kids didn't do it already!!!) Anyway I was just enthused to be experiencing it. Good God would have been good to hear (I imagine the place would have gone nuts!) I enjoyed the view about 10 feet above everyone else standing on top 2 seats with my back against a pillar divider that led up to the stage lights. Really surprised security didnt force me down but they were actually pretty cool. (and that never happens!) I did try to sneak up to the front following the guy I was there with but that didnt work out to well. He got up front and I didnt. Sux.
Other than I stayed in and out of sleep on Sunday. I tried to watch Big fish on Sunday but again I failed to stay awake. It looked pretty good but I had no chance in hell. I tried again last night and passed out again. I figure I have about 30 minutes left so Ill see if I can borrow the copy.
On a good note I got laid this morning- thank god too, thought I would have to handle my business on my own- and that to me isnt always as much fun as the real thing. Unfortunately it was a quickie, (late for work again!)
Now I got sex on the brain(ho-hum!) I guess it could be worse
