I think the whole 'nuking' thing is just to scare people. I mean, in WWII, it was atomic bomb threats, and now it's nuclear warfare. Wars happen. People die. But I don't see us being nuked off the face of the planet or anything, ya know?

For your second question, though....I think I have to ask what you're referring to, because I lived my entire life 'happily oblivious' as you put it because I was completely content with my ignorance of politics, culture, and society at large until someone opened my eyes to the 'bigger picture'. Now, I can't imagine how I was so stupid in the past by not being aware of my environment. I'm happier now, because I know what's going on...and I take an active role in learning more. So, if you're referring to general ignorance, I'd have to say I'd rather be intelligent and aware of my environment than to be 'deaf, dumb, and blind' as you in-other-words put it. wink
