Lori, a friend of mine from high school, has had cystic fibrosis since she was a baby and it has, of course, gotten increasingly worse over the years. CF is a terrible recessive genetic disease that attacks the entire body, especially organs such as the pancreas and lungs, and often causes pre-mature death. Lori is only 21 years old and she now needs a lung transplant. However, before she can be even be placed on the list for a transplant her family needs to come up with $10,000 by May 5th to show that they'll be able to pay for the operation. (If you've seen the movie John Q...its pretty much like that. Minus Denzel!) The family doesn't have nearly enough money and is asking for donations.
