I tried to wake up at 12 today. And I usually can if I've been drinking the night before.
But then I went back to sleep and had this dream...

I don't get "subway dreams" very often anymore.
But "subway dreams" have special significance to me

Well, technically, it's just a dream involving a subway/subway tunnels/perhaps other forms of transit.
Most importantly a subway though.

so why is it special to you

Um... but the subway dreams always feature something really important to me.

like?

Well, besides from being more vivid, this particular subway dream involved meeting a girl. How it happened was really weird.

And it kept getting weirder.
But in the dream I can remember being so anxious and happy that I had found someone like *that*, whoever it was.

Anyways, I noticed several times near the end of the dream that I was almost waking up, and I held it off. I stayed asleep, stayed in the dream, because I knew she wouldn't be here when I woke up.

I dunno... no real details. In fact she kept kinda changing.

But I remember thinking in one of the weird dreaming-but-feeling-reality-starting-to-pour-in moments...

Is there any way... any way at all... that she could be out there, too? Could this become real?

Of course, thinking about reality from inside a dream... reality is then what can only be conceived as a dream.
I did not know of anything in the waking world, but I knew it was coming. I knew it would destroy what I had found there.
