Wow, so, I just had this awesome little movie night with a friend. We watched Closer.
I must say, that was actually a really good movie. But so sad! Well, at the beginning of the movie the characters were just so badly behaved that I almost couldn't take it seriously. But, by the end it was very sad. It made me think about life, and the impossibility of true love.
Now my family is talking to the dog again. I want to punch my door. Whenever someone talks to an animal that dumb, I want to punch something. It's disturbing my moment here.
Anyways, *sigh*. One big reoccuring theme of the movie was truth in the form of honesty. They repeated that truth is what makes us more than animals. But in the end, the truth just destroyed everything. We are more than animals. Maybe it's what makes us sad. See these people trying so hard to be good, and it was futile. The world is a miserable place, but if you can remove yourself enough from it, it is sweet in it's misery. The passion of falling. The passion of doing the wrong thing. The passion of guilt. The passion of despair.
Grrrr. I don't know what else to say. I never know what to say. But the movie's theme song, The Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice. UGH! So beautiful. I imagine myself walking through a crowded street, and I see a pretty face off in the distance. Damn it, I'm so beautifully melancholy right now.
However, there was one part at the end that didn't seem to sync with the rest of the movie. But as a whole, it was the blemish on a beautiful piece of work. I am definitely somewhat enthralled.
