Get this: When Rogers first offered DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) modems last year, which allow faster speeds and more reliability, they wanted me to buy it for $100 dollars so that I could be ALLOWED to upgrade to their Extreme tier internet service. Well, I declined that *delightful* offer, and now they have given me the same modem for free, because now it is required. I still have their standard hi-speed service, but I think it's funny that I waited them out. I just installed this thing, and it's been relatively hassle-free. Hoorah.

Also, I bought fantastic Italian suede boots today, second-hand for 8 dollars. They are in quite good condition. They were only cheap because they were not a fashionable design by North American standards. I think they look fabulous. But they belong with a chic piratesque goth-look, so I have to continue working on that. I wish I hadn't lost my dress-shirt with the aztec design down the front, because I think they would have went snazzy together.

I had white russians today. Roar. My paprikash soup is a hit once again. But Dan is back at work. (Sigh.) It couldn't have lasted forever (his vacation, that is.) At least if we don't hire anyone new before next summer, he'll be the first to go when the extra staff are cut. Hoooooorah.
