SUEDEHEAD FALL TOUR 2011 - Part 2

One of the more interesting places on the tour was Louisville, Kentucky. The gig there was in an enormous quonset hut, one of those half-dome tin cans essentially. It was connected on either side to an indoor flea market that was of very interesting quality. Check this s out:
This is what the flea market looked like. It was a bunch of individual stalls that were secured by a chain link fence. There was row after row after row that looked like this, in two separate buildings.
Most of the items were of this variety. Again, there were two BUILDINGS full of this stuff. Also counterfeit sneakers, knives and guns and nazi regalia for the rednecks, junk electronics, etc. But mostly knick-knacks like this.
I don't know who this is, but I bet her picture has been hanging from the ceiling here since the 70's.
The haute cuisine of Louisville. Yep, this was pretty much all there was to eat. Our vegan guitarist and our gluten-free drummer were panicking.
Surprisingly, the show there went really well, and the crowd was really into us for some reason. We were prepared to have full beer bottles thrown at us, but instead everyone was really cool. Some guy even had us autograph his leg, saying he would have our signatures tattooed on in the morning! I think he sent us an e-mail saying he actually did it!
We rolled into town there on Thanksgiving Day (the show was the day after). Our guitarist's sister lives there, and she made us full-on Thanksgiving dinner, which we desperately needed after spending so much time eating road food. We even got to stay at her place for the two nights we were there. It was great to have a place to sleep that wasn't a Motel 6 or Super 8.
A number of you have asked where the tour will go next - the tour is actually over and I'm just recapping. The band will be back on the road, on the west coast, in March.
So yeah, that was Louisville.
