It's interesting to observe the outpouring of love for Steve Jobs. I'd have to say it's distinctly American to express so much emotion for a businessman and inventor. I caught a lot of crap on Facebook for stating that Bill Gates wouldn't get this much love when he passes away. But it's true! Do you "love" Microsoft products like you "love" your iPod or iPhone? That was the single most interesting thing about what Jobs did....he created technology that not only improved our lives, but we got EMOTIONAL about them. Think about all the people who waited in line at the Apple store for the newest gadget. That's emotional attachment to....a mobile phone. Wow.
RIP to a great American visionary.

A friend of mine got so emotional over co-workers being disrespectful about it (making Apple jokes) that she started writing a resignation letter until her boss calmed her down. She was crying and everything. I have a MacBook and an iPhone but I don't know, it's no worse to me than any given movie star dying. I'm just kind of surprised that so many people even know who Steve Jobs is!

I can appreciate his savvy as a businessman, but I haven't quite experienced that sort of attachment or grief. Then again, I only have an iPod at the moment.
