Whoot! Just got back from a week-long tour of Florida and New Orleans.

Fort Lauderdale was a complete blast. They have a boardwalk near the beach with a cool little "neighboorhood"-esque bar called Elbo Room. We hung out there and drank beer and had a blast. Fort Lauderdale is an intresting city. Saw more Ferraris driving around there than I have ever seen before in my life.

Panama City beach was okay. Too much construction, tho, and I think that was was a bit of a younger crowd, so we weren't really that into it.

New Orleans. Why did no one tell me that I had to this before? A city full of Voodoo, Vampires, Ghosts, History and drinking. Go there. Go there now. We took one of the walking ghost tours, and someone in the group took a picture of a supposedly haunted house, and he got orbs in the picture. Not sure what it means, but it was damn spooky.

Much drinking at a resturant called Port of Call on espandale street. Damn fine burgers, and a killer Hurricane and Mahi-Mahi. Crap, I couldn't see straight. Thank you, girl in Fort Lauderdale for suggesting this bar. You rock.

It does make for good views but it is difficult in the winter. The times when we have problems is during ice, snow storms, and high winds. Sometimes you just have to park the vehicle and walk up the last leg of the roads because the 4-wheel drive vehicle won't even go up them. I would still take it as opposed to sitting in an office 40hrs a week. -Dave

ahh...new orleans! truely one of the most seductive towns ever!! i have only been able to visit it once, but i loved it!! especially all the voodoo and graveyards!! skull
