like many somewhat productive drug addicts, hunter s. thopmson was an extremely intelligent and talented individual. knowledge of his death saddens me deeply. his death does, however, disprove a common arguement that many active alcoholics and addicts tell themselves and others on a regular basis. this is the arguement that if everyone would just get off their back (parents, law, signifigant others, etc.), they would have no problems and would be able to be happy and function normally. dr. thompson lacked these "back problems", yet he was still miserable enough to shoot himself. his death was a result of substance abuse. if you read this and get pissed off, good for you. its the truth. this entry should not be taken as a rant against drug usage. i am well aware of the difference between recreational users and addicts.
