Ahh fuck, i hate being out of the loop with all things music!
I just discovered that Lance Hahn died last october, i'd known he was ill but this is still a kick in the balls for me.
Lance was the singer/guitarist of the poppy punk band J Church. If you don't know them you should!!! They wrote amazing songs about everything from heartbreak through to politics, all with an infectious pop hook.
I was lucky enough to see them live twice, the first time was when i was still a sound engineer. They were playing the greatest small venue in the north of England, the Duchess of York, now a fucking Hugo Boss store!!!
I was too shy back then to chat to them, but i must've mentioned that Bomb was my favourite song at some point, cos he dedicated it to me during the set
I go to see them again a few years ago and got some good photos, though they're currently on my stricken computer!!!
Man i almost forgot! My friend Sophie knew of my love for Lance and J Church and wrote to him, she ordered me as many issues of his fanzine as were still in print for my 30th birthday! He sent me a poster with a little note as well!!!!
Bah, enough of this maudlin stuff!!
Honey and i are going to a BBQ at my friend Nicoles house, her whizz kid bf Phill will hopefully revive my stricken PC and not thrash me too badly at COD4 (he's an ex pro gamer!!!)
Also my new Oakley backpack and Etnies flip flops just arrived!!!!! weeeeeee
