I'm getting kinda tired of being knocked back for jobs now. Naturally when I was in school they'd push university onto you with the promise of a wonderful life that awaits you once you've got a piece of paper. Obviously this isnt the case in the real world, and I'm actually beginning to feel REALLY stupid for having believed it. It's more annoying when you get knocked back for jobs that you know you can do, everyone in the world knows you can do it; but unless you can provide proof that you've done it in a previous job you can forget it.

Managing people isn't hard. You just have to treat them with a little respect and leave them to get on with it. Giving them grief every 5 minutes is only gonna make you unpopular and your car tyres mysteriously deflated. The only part of a management job that ISN'T basic common sense is all the procedural shit that you'd have to get taught anyway since its different for every company. I know i can do the job, I just need to convince people to give me a chance. That's why I've lied on my CV and said that I've been managing my local comic shop. Fair play to the guy that owns it, he's quite happy to go along with the lie. He even had me leave him a list of wonderful things to say if they ever phone him up. Sure its possible I'll get found out but like I said, the only part I couldnt do now is all the procedural crap that I'd get trained in anyway.
