i'm back from my brief little hiatus there. i notice a lot of my previous blogs (i still hate the word blog) were all the same. so time to move on.
anyways, today was a great day. not the type of day i'd usually consider great, but still a great day. so it had snowed a lot last night. so i woke up at 7 and played on my DS for an hour (I'm currently playing Dementium, as the second one comes out soon and I wouldn't feel right playing that without first beating the first one). It's a great game, horror survival. of course with all the puzzles that genre seems to require. a lot of fun. the premise is you wake up in the hospital with zombie like things everywhere and the walls covered in blood. ocasioanally you briefly see this creepy little girl and the only other time you ever see anyone they might point or drop something helpful and then get brutally murdered. you know nothing else of the plot initially and must figure it all out. fun.
so anyways i woke up and shoveled a bunch, even though i live at home and my dad snowblows, as i feel good when i feel like i'm being productive and helpful and therefore feel i can better justify living at home. i then went out for breakfast and coffee with my dad and gramps. which is always nice. then i sat around for an hour watching tv with my sisters (usually monday is my day to myself but everyone was home as it's MLK day). i then headed off to the gym and i'm pretty proud of myself as i did a fair amount more then usual.
i came home and then headed off to buy some groceries. i never cook for other people and rarely cook anything for myself since moving back, but when i cook i cook vegetarian and meat grosses me out and i tend to make mexican. so i thought seeing as i live at home and pay very little i out to start cooking for my family occasionally. anyways i went and bought all the stuff for burritos.... which was one bell pepper, one red onion, one jalepeno, a bag of shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole (i had planned to make it but none of the avacados felt right), tortillas, and black beans. we already had rice and mushrooms. anyways that came out awesome, and i know i surprised my family as i've never cooked for them and i don't think they expected it to come out very well. and my mom asked me to cook more often.
so i feel good about today, in reality i got very little done, but it still feels like a productive day. i feel like i'm contributing more to my family and i'm growing to really appreciate the feeling of being helpful.
