Changes in my world are upcoming apaprently, but first a wondering of things in the realm of SG...

I have seen the various blogs wondering about the direction of the site, and the overall disappointment in choices for front page pinkdom. I feel it is something I want to address as well. I have my favorite women on the site, as do we all, but...

Been on a big documentary kick lately, and loving netflix instant for feeding my need in this regard. Oh, I guess I had one disc sent to me too, but mainly instant, mainly...biggrin

Right now I am watching Gonzo, because I have only ever read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas so I need to know more about Mr. Thompson. Interesting so far, and I...

Snagglepuss! Haha - that crackled me.

Yeah, you have to have tolerance and compassion when someone trots out their poorly paraphrased literary reference, but you can also provide the kind service of dropping knowledge. That will help him when this relationship returns to its previous state of bliss and/or demise and/or both. Relationships are like that, after all.

I need to read some new books! I've been trying to rework the second half of the semester because I am encoutering the too much to do not enough time to do it dilemma right now. *sigh* I don't want to just pile more work on my students, after all. I need a fun book, too. I had them reading short stories recently and that was way fun. We shall see.

I was going to write a new blog tonight before I wandered off to bed, but I guess my friend Brad and his girlfriend broke up so I am going to be a friend and go drink some beers when he gets off work.

So I will be writing a blog tomorrow then. Is that okay, you be able to handle that?

I often sit and wonder about those in my life, both in real life and those I have met over the distances closed in by the wonderful signals being sent across phone lines, cords, and "tubes" that are the interwebs. I wonder if they fear like I, if they feel like I, if they dream like I, if they do like I do... I wonder...

I just saw a visual in a movie and it made me realize something...

I want to live in a city, I want to be surrounded by mountains of metal, cement, and glass. I want to see the reflections of light bounced from one building to the next. Finding a spot in between where there is an eerie silence that results in productive creativity. I...

Haha, I'll have to watch one of his movies again if I want to talk like him as well. I don't think I've seen a John Wayne movie since I was a child.

Just got off the phone with my sis, love that girl. biggrin Always good to hear her voice whether in person or through technology. Always glad I took the job at the bar back in 2000 so that I could decide I wasn't an only child after all but could form a family around me as needed. Besides it says on facebook we are brother and...

In from Cairo, my friend Nader reports:

"...as for the situation at the beginning was ... we did a very well organised and peacfull protest from 2pm and at midnight we were camping in Tahrir Square which is the heart of Cairo waiting at least for the President to give us his word for our needs but he didnt show up on TV and police started throwing us Gas bombs and DEMDEM bullets and some of us got injured other fainted because of the huge amount of gases. Then they started using their other weapons ( electric sticks and normal sticks ) so we started to defend ourselves...As for the last couple of days ... Policemen set some murderers free in Tahrir square to kill some people so that the rest of us get scared and leave but we didn't move from our places and fought them. Next day police left their positions and gave up and they set so many prisoners free from jail ... which we are till now making (( People's Commission for Protection )) to protect our shops and houses from them since there is no police. The only force in the streets now is the Army and they are protecting the main roads and we are protecting the rest with guns and knifes. We also make patrols in our own cities. Lately police officers started to spread again to help us find all the criminals that have scaped since the government have changed... I am okay till now I guess ... I have been leading a whole patrol unite to check the passing cars if they have guns or anything for the last 26 hours ... i just got home this morning and slept for 8 hours and I am going down again."

The Trappings Of a Comfortable Life...

Lately I have come to the realization that I definitely need to figure out what my plan is, much more so than the vagueness I have done thus far. The life I have lived these first 32 years have made sense, and have worked out for me, but I need to zero in a bit more if I am...

I finished this book yesterday, and it was probably the fourth or so time I have read it. It is simply one of my favorite books, and this time it stirred something in me. Stirred in...

Well, being acquainted with, but luckily not overtaken by, many kinds of crazy, I can say that some of it is delightful. I have been on the good side of crazy for most of the day. A few times I was on the precipice though! I could use some of the fun kind of crazy right about now. Hrm. I think that might not be to be for a bit yet. Maybe I will just play Patsy Cline's "Crazy" - haha.
