PHEWWWWW!!! FUCKING MADE IT THROUGH WITH NO END IN SIGHT!!!!
Okay, so my excitement for the rapture not occurring is extremely selfish in nature, and you know what, I am just fine with that.
Yep, I am selfishly saying I am glad the rapture didn't happen....ooh maybe that's why I didn't get taken, but apparently none of us were good enough, or something.
Why am I excited, well, last Monday a little trip got put together for June 27th-30th, and it would suck not to have been able to do take it. It all revolves around the Atlanta Braves as well, so that's an amazing bonus.
The Atlanta Braves are playing the Seattle Mariners the 27th, 28th, and 29th this year, which means they are fairly close to Montana, at least closer than if they were playing a home game.
Dad and I are huge Braves fans, and it was a badge of honor when he told his friends that he thought I had become a bigger fan then him, so a chance to see our team is to good to be pass up. Add to that the fact the Chipper Jones might be retiring after this year, and we had to go, because we have to see him play before he hangs up his cleats.
The original problem was the date, Dad was sure he had a fishing tournament that weekend, but when I looked at the dates of the games, Monday-Wednesday, I knew that his tournament had to be the weekend before. Mom had been pushing the trip for a bit because we don't really do things like this even though we should, so last Monday it all came to a head.
Turned into a graduation present for me, dad decided that they could probably afford it, so I fired up Priceline to see what we could do for flight and hotel arrangements. That was the easy part...see we are a people of struggling with deciding, pretty much just have to jump in with both feet to get shit done around here. I would say, hey how's this hotel, or this, and he would say, yeah whatever...finally I was like damn you're paying what do you want to pay. Whatever turned into loading up Google maps to see where Safeco field is and where the hotels are in proximity. Found one that might be about a twenty minute walk to the field which won't be bad at all.
I started to look around a little bit and Puget sound is only a couple blocks away so that will be visited as well. I am sure I will throw some kind of itinerary together for us, but suggestions are good too.
Originally we were going to fly in Monday, go to Tuesday's game, and fly out Wednesday, but I made a deal with him that I would buy the tickets to the games if we could stay an extra day. So now we fly in Monday, go to Tuesday night's game and the Wednesday day game and then fly back on Thursday. One good thing about having Tuesday and Wednesday for days off every week is that I only have to take two days of vacation.
So next month Dad and I will be taking and adventure to the Emerald City to see our favorite baseball team play on a beautiful field, I just hope they don't mind a couple Braves fans amongst their fans.
Oh, and we have never been to professional ball games before, so this is exciting for that as well.
