Well alright, I have been doing these about once a week, and that seems about right, so here's a new one for ya.

The freaking bunny I wrote about a couple weeks back was in the shop's yard last night. I hadn't seen him since he tried to "attack" me, so it was good to see it hopping quickly around. I never got close enough to make sure it was the sam one, but I don't know why it wouldn't be. Still fast as hell. If you are lost right now, you should go back a couple blogs and see what I'm referring to. biggrin

Look like I will be able to get back to the day shift pretty soon, something that has me quite happy. I have the same amount of time off on the night shift but it doesn't ever seem like there is enough time to be productive. I come homw watch some TV, shower, and go to bed, then when I wake up I have a few hours to kill until I go to work and they don't really lend themselves to me the way I would hope they would. I know a lot of it is all in my head and I do what I can with that, but some of it isn't and that's the part that sucks.

My dad had a birthday last Saturday and it made me realize why my own birthdays don't bother me like they do some people, because I know how I feel and what my health is and what I can do with it, but my folks' I cannot and so their birthdays bug me. I can face my own mortality, but I don't like facing those of my loved ones. So yeah my birthdays don't really bother me, but sometimes those of others do. I imagine too, that when I have children their birthdays might bother me in a different way as it would mean that the little people are getting older and perhaps needing me less. I can only imagine that, that is something along the lines of what I might feel.

Today I ordered my WEfest tickets for this summer, Boom, that's a week of fantastic is what that is. Nothing like being amongst some of your best friends getting paid to lounge, drink, witness great live music, and just live it up like I don't around here. I let loose, I embrace the fun, and I live up to the nickname Bear. biggrin

That's some randomness for ya, if you want to know more about your friendly neighborhood Matt, just ask.

Now here's some music I dig the shit out of.

First is Florence + the Machine. This is the first song I heard from this disc, I went to iTunes and previewed the cd and promptly bought it. It is by far one of the best albums I have ever heard, start to finish it's great. So bless your ears, and well, your eyes too, she's a looker. biggrin

I always mean to make a "Perfect song" playlist for my iPod, and one of these days I will. Now, I have no musical training, I'm not an inherent prodigy, but I listen to a lot of music, and I know what I like. The songs that would be on this list are songs that no matter how many times I hear them they bring a smile to my face, and they will never get old to me. Here's a smattering of them. biggrin

That was an odd video, still love it.

There that shold constitute a smattering, perhaps I should look that word up, perhaps. As you can see the playlist will consist of all kinds of stuff, and some of the smiles on my face will be metaphorical, but that's cool too.

Had to add some stuff after I thought of it.
New picture up there is a South Park me that a friend made me a few years back and I figured it should be put here where it could be appreciated.

Watched some movies and they were awesome.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I didn't know if I would like the stop motion animation of this one, but it was awesome. It was a Wes Anderson movie there is no doubt about that, but it was so much more, to me anyway. I grew up with Roald Dahl books on the shelf, and I don't know that I had this one, but seeing love put into it was something else, something admirable. This was just a lot of fun, and really well done, probably gonna go into the permanent library.

Up. I have had this one forever and finally watched it the other day, and it is phenomenal. I so can see why it won the Oscar. Leave it to Pixar to make me tear up at a cartoon, bastards. OH and I totally want a dog like Doug, especially if he can talk.

Up in the AIr. Solidified my crush on Anna Kendrick, and showed me how hot Vera Farmiga is. Oh and Clooney was such a damned good actor, really melted into the role and I see why all three of these people were up for Oscars. Just a damn good movie about a man that realizes what is actually important in life, hopefully not to late.

The Men who Stare at Goats. Again proves how good Clooney is. I realized something about him after watching this and having seen Air so close to it, and that was that Clooney is superb at his job. I hadn't really thought about it, but the fact that he is so believable in every role he takes on proves this point. I read something today about stars that keep getting movies despite having flops and Clooney was in there, and all I can say to the question of why do they keep getting the jobs is because they are damn good at what they do and the casting directors and people making the movie want the best actors for the job so there ya go, easily answered.

The Informant. I have always thought Matt Damon was awesome, but this is so damned beyond that, again to me anyways. I love him as Bourne, he kicks much ass, but then he goes to something like this, a clueless informant who really sees the world in black and white, and if business is like that then it's not wrong. He is just damned funny in a truly subtle way that has to be seen, again in my humble opinion.

Today I am gonna watch An Education (Carey Mulligan was Sally Sparrow in Doctor Who and I crushed on her then, probably won't survive this biggrin) and Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr. has always been a favorite since Heart and Souls, so I am excited for that one.

perhaps the world would be more obsessed with zombies if a movie came out about them starring the Jonas Brothers
