Ok so what's been going on?
I made my transition back to the night shift, lucky, lucky me. It hasn't been to bd so far, and I think that is because I know it will be for a month tops, probably. Once the guys that were laid off get back and jump through all the hoops they want them to jump through, then I should be able to get back to the day shift, or at least afternoons. I think that bit of knowledge is helping me deal with it all.
The work is the exact same, so that part isn't any better or worse, but really the guys on nights are a great group. They are more my age, and they are not afraid to work, funny bastards too, so that part helps alot as well. It's been easy to transition that way, but it sucks sleeping during the day, but oh well keep the paycheck coming and I guess I will do the job.
Last night we had a steak feed to celebrate one year injury free, which is a pretty good milestone for us. Until I had my accident at work in '07 we were at damn near 3 years or a little more injury free and since then we have had a little bit of a struggle to keep the injury free thing rolling along. It's not like we have had big injuries like mine was, but if it get's medical attention it counts.
Well we used to be in charge of cooking for ourselves and last night two foreman cooked, and they didn't have any kind of organization and really didn't get shit done like you would think they should. So our meal turned into sitting around for an hour and a half, waiting for everything to get situated and what-have-you. So if their goal was to streamline things they got a big old epic fail right there.
We got the stuff done that they wanted us to do by 3am and then didn't get asked to do anything again until after 6am. At 4:30 I went to go sit on a locomotive so that I would be out of sight, out of mind. Well the damn thing was all warm and kinda rocked a little as I sat there, and wouldn't you know it I took me a little nap. Now I don't like doing that usually, and it is frowned upon but I had the radio turned up real loud so they could get ahold of me like they like to do.
It was a really cool fog last night, visually anyways. It sucks for moving locomotives because you like to be able to see which way switches are ligned and if there is anything on the tracks in your way. Oh well we do what we can and do it well and safe.
One of these days I will learn. A girl I used to work with back in Grand Forks thinks I dig her more than I do. I was nice to her on facebook when she needed a friend, and I play scrabble with her on there because I like the game. She's married to an older man and I don't know what that situation is all about, but I wouldn't want my wife acting like she does. She has always been flirty and that's what I thought it was, but now I don't know. I try to be passive agressive by talking about stars I have crushes on and she just comes back with someday you will surprise me by telling me about your crush on me and all my good qualities. She's needy and I get that, but man I stepped in this one. Wonder what she'll think if I get married some day and don't invite her, because apparently I am a "Bestie".
Man when I want a girl I can't snag one and when I don't, well, then I can't get rid of em. Oh well I just have to keep being a good friend I guess.
edited to add...
I got bored, and my head was getting all dry on me and whatnot, due to winter and psoriasis and getting longer, so I said to hell with it and did this.

I forgot that I kinda like the feel of it too.
