Been having a pretty good week, that's what's been going on over here.
Tuesday is really the day that brought it all together. First my thesis chair sent me an email that he had finally gotten around to reading the chapters I sent him a while back and that he was sending those my direction and that things looked good and to keep going. It was nice to have the insight and to hear from him as it had been a little while, it was kind of the start of the re-charging of my batteries if you will.
Then when dad got home from work he told me that they had announced that they were doing call backs to those laid off last year. I wrote about that last blog so go there if you want details, needless to say it's a good thing.
Tuesday night I get a call from one of my best friends that I hadn't seen since last summer and he asked me how long it takes to get from Billings to my hometown. After I told him he asked if I would be up to gettng a beer in three hours, wouldn't you know it he had to stay here overnight and I have Wednesday's off. We went and drank some beers and bull shitted, then when the bars closed we went back to the hotel with a six pack and bull shitted some more. It was funny how the conversation went from how we could have had more fun if we had paid a little more attention when we working at the bar, and then politics. All in all Kevin is one of those friends that even if you haven't heard from or seen them in a while, you pick up right where you left off. He had to leave in the morning and it was about 20 to 5 when I left, but needless to say I slep in Wednesday, but woke up with my batteries fully charged. Yeah Tuesday was one of the better days in a long ass time.
Wednesday I went and did the whole Ash Wednsday thing with the folks. A monk presided over the whole deal and he really did a great job with the whole thing. He really had a good message to send us off with, and I definitely could stand to see some masses presided over by him, even though he can't preside over masses, merely do word and communion services and wear a kick ass outfit. Good times for all, I suppose.
The last two days at work we have been busy as shit, busier than in a long, long time. Busy like we were back when I started, hence the call backs. We have so many locomotives at the shop that we are trying to find spots to park them as they go in and out of the house to be worked on. It's a good way to get the day passed by quickly, and I do quite a bit of walking, and climbing, so the winter weight might disappear sooner than I thought
The other day I started watching the BBC show Skins, and I freaking loved it, devoured the first two seasons already, and chose not to remove it from the netflix instant queue. I was telling my friend Brad about it today and he said it sounded stupid and that there was to much drama, to which I responded..."it's a drama". There is something about stories being told about a group of people that have ridiculous amounts of off the wall things happen to them. Yep I like that shit and I aint apologizing.
So yeah, pretty good week thus far, batteries charged, entertainged, life's pretty good people, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Sounds like you had an entertaining night with your friend!! It can be really nice to catch up with people!
Dang it - I was going to say something else to you - what was it? OH, right - Lent. I'm a doer instead of a giver upper. Sacrifice feels too good to me. Doing is harder, so I do. A nun actually suggested it to me a million, billion years ago. (Maybe fewer)
