Edited to add....
Dad came home from work with really great news for me and few other people in town. They told them today that 8 letters were sent out to call back those 8 hostlers that were laid off last year. The secretary at work told him she figures that they would be back by the first of March.
To the selfish man that resides within me this means that the fear of an inevitable move to the night shift no longer be feared as it will be short lived if at all. To the compassionate Democrat within me it is a sign ofgreat things to come for all, hope and smiles and all that jazz.
Ahhh, sweet relief of knowing that I have the next two days off of work, after working 9 straight days. I want to be productive, yet my mind swims at what I could do, and what I should go about doing. Not only does the mind swim, but that sumbitch boggles even.
The 26th will be a good day because I will be getting a pretty damn good pay check, but it will be a bad day because it will be my last day on the day shift until they have call backs, if they have call backs. This sucks for a myriad of reasons, the main one being that the night shift sucks ass. I like being on the day shift because my dad is on it, yeah I see him at home, but it's nice to see that face at work, makes it a little more acceptable to know that if I have something to bitch about there is for sure one person that will agree with me.
My buddy Brad is on the day shift as well which sucks because I like having someone to talk comics, movies and whatnot. There are some good guys to work with on Nights so I guess I will be alright.
I still have a job and that is the main thing to remember, I still have the money coming in to pay my student loan payments, and my bills and to save up for the inevitable future move (whenever that may be). I shall no longer bitch about my job as there are people out there worse off than I, and I choose not to ruin their day with my petty complaints.
I look forward to watching some Olympic hockey tomorrow, the USA men play during the day and the USA women play in the evening. Both teams have former and current members of the hockey team from my alma mater, the wonderful University of North Dakota. There may becontroversy over the school's nickname, but there is no denying that the school has very talented hockey teams, and oh how I love watching them. Seems like the college team may be having a bit of a turn around after an 8-1 shellacking of St. Cloud State, and now is the time to do it as the season winds down.
Hmmm, ah yes watching some Olbermann and Maddow, what a wonderful two hour block of television. Those two might have a Democrat bias to their shows, but you know what...I like it, shhh it's a secret.
Stack of comics, instant movies, writing to do, ahh yes this is how the time shall pass.
p.s. This is me growing a beard, and perhaps mugging a bit.

I have not seen that show, I've been meaning to watch it though - I just keep missing it. I'll keep an eye out for it
Funny that the architect has it hanging on his wall after saying that! Damn I really want to watch that movie now!
