SWEETNESS ABOUNDS.
So it was officially announced yesterday that Guillermo Del Toro will be directing The Hobbit. It will be a two parter and he will be working with Peter Jackson on the film. Guillermo is going to go down to New Zealand and do his magic on the project.
I think this is the best choice for the job since Peter Jackson decided not to direct it. Visually I believe that Del Toro will be close enough to Jackson to have the same feel as the Lord of the Rings, but different enough that it won't seem like one giant five movie project. Personally I can now officially not wait to see what Smaug looks like, that's going to be some cool shit right there.
Watched The Orphanage last night and was actually freaked out a bit by it, it's been a long ass time since a horror movie did that to me. It did it without being outright gory, but just having a creepy kid running around in the story itself. There were points where I told myself they were building tension to freak the viewer out and then it wasn't that at all, and then I would get freaked out when I didn't think I would. All in all a great movie, and I was no where near distracted by reading the subtitles on it either.
One final note...
is it sad that I am worried that I will be to laid up after surgery to get out to The Dark Night on it's first night in theaters?
